Children’s Therapies, Inc. now offers a developmental play group for parents and their newborns (through the first year). Each week the group is led by a pediatric therapist: physical, occupational or speech. Topics include: · Infant massage · Gross motor play · Hand eye coordination and development · Feeding and swallowing · Language and speech development Activities to promote development in targeted areas are demonstrated and practiced during each session and follow-up home activities are provided at the end of each session.
Sessions run 6 weeks meeting once a week for 45 to 60 minutes.

Our Occupational Therapists have developed two very successful handwriting programs for children in our community. Both porograms focus on writing development through fun-filled activities that develop manual dexterity, strength, and upper extremity coordination. Susan Lucchese has been trained in and uses the "Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum".
We offer a six to eight week social skills group that meets one time a week to build your child’s social language skills. Groups are formed based on age and current social language skills. Each week a new topic is introduced with fun activities focusing on educating your child on appropriate peer interaction. Topics include:
Making and keeping friends Fitting in at school Handling your feelings Using self-control Being responsible
Groups are led by a speech pathologist and are limited in size to six children.
This program is designed to refine your child’s existing skills and provide the extra boost he or she may need to continue to move ahead. Each intensive program is contoured to meet the specific physical, occupational and speech/language goals of your child. Goals are addressed using fun filled, age appropriate play activities. Sessions last two and one half to three hours a day and can include one or more therapies. Space is limited; 1 to 2 children per session.
